Golf day donation suits Hospice down to a tee

A funding injection from Darton-based Copier Systems Ltd will help provide specialist compassionate care for patients at Barnsley Hospice.

The firm raised raised over £500 for the hospice at their annual golf day in October.

The donation will help the hospice provide specialist care for people affected by a life-limiting illness, including cancer, motor neurone disease and heart disease.

Simon Atkinson, corporate fund-raiser at Barnsley Hospice, said: “Copier Systems have always been great supporters of the hospice and we’re really appreciative of their latest fund-raising efforts. It sounds like everyone had a fantastic day and we’re already looking forward to helping them out with next year’s event.”

Ryan Eastwood, managing director of Copier Systems Ltd, said: “Barnsley Hospice is a charity close to our hearts, so it seemed fitting to dedicate the eighth hole in our annual golf day to the charity to raise money for this extremely worthy cause.”

Donations from the Barnsley business community help the hospice raise the £2.2m it needs each year to care for patients and their families. A further £1.6m is provided by the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
